The second Chilean date of the L’Étape series run by the Tour de France organiser, after Valdivia, held in Pucón on the edge of the Andes. The long route covers 150 km and 1,700 m of climbing from Pucón along the Camino Internacional to Curarrehue and back, past old-growth forest, mountain rivers and volcanic scenery; there are also 73 km (400 m) and a 30 km family route on closed roads. Separate men’s and women’s classifications, plus sprint and mountain jerseys.
