The most important stage race in women’s cycling has been organised since 2022 by A.S.O., the organiser of the Tour de France; there were predecessors in 1955 and from 1984 to 2009. As in the men’s race, the overall leader wears the yellow jersey. In 2027 the Tour starts in Great Britain for the first time: from Leeds to Manchester, then to Sheffield, with a team time trial in London. The race is decided on the final stage from Clermont-Ferrand up the Puy de Dôme.
