Veneto Gravel

About the event

Veneto Gravel is not a race: there is neither timing nor ranking. Riders travel unsupported following a GPS track that is not signposted and must be ridden in full without shortcuts; along the way there is no continuous food, mechanical support or pick-up service. Everyone decides for themselves where to eat and sleep. At some checkpoints the brevet card is stamped, and additional checks are possible. The routes run on roads and paths open to traffic and the highway code applies; a helmet, high-visibility vest, front and rear lights, a mobile phone and a whistle or bell are mandatory.

Participants must be adults and present a sports-medical certificate for competitive cycling (riders from abroad use a form provided by the organiser, signed by a doctor); the required membership of the organising club is handled during registration. Places are limited and entries are not transferable. Any bike is allowed, including e-bikes, whose batteries riders must manage themselves.

Riders start individually after collecting their race pack at Villa Angaran (2027: 7 and 8 May, 8 am to 8 pm); finishers are those who are back by the close on 12 May at 8 pm. Showers and a meal await at the finish. With the “Ready to Ride” package, new in 2027, the race materials are sent home and check-in is not needed. The first edition took place in 2017.
